Mozambique Well Pottery Bowl Fundraiser!

What is this all about?

Before the pandemic, we thought it would be a fun idea to make ceramic bowls in Joy in Learning …but not just create bowls for ourselves, for others as well. As it turned out, we ended up creating bowls via zoom and then in the studio! We now have 100 beautiful handmade ceramic bowls ready for someone to love.

But what would we do with the bowls “for others”? We knew that Westminster had been working with the Outreach Foundation in digging wells in Mozambique for many, many years. Several members of the church have even traveled there to see the many wells provided with funds from individual donors.

But how could we raise enough funds to make a dent in the cost of a well? A well costs around $10,000! With one bowl at a time.

The idea then blossomed into providing chili in the bowl … and making it a fundraiser. One can purchase a bowl with chili and the fixings on the side, cornbread, and dessert AND keep the bowl as a remembrance of helping provide fresh water for those in need in Mozambique.
